WELCOME TO PERTH

GETTING THERE…

AIR

Perth is easily accessible by air from around Australia, overseas and from many locations within the State. Perth International airport has many international connections arriving and departing, allowing easy access for all our international attendees.

Perth's domestic and international terminals are located only 20 minutes from the heart of Perth City, connected by bus, taxi and ride share services. See below for more information.

ROAD

Many people decide to take the journey across the country or through the state by road. It’s a fantastic way to truly appreciate Australia's vastness and sparsely populated outback. There are clearly sign-posted, well marked and serviced wide roads in Western Australia's north and train and bus service details. Townships and roadhouses are also regularly spaced throughout. If you’re lucky wildlife can often be sighted along the roadside.

Speed limits are generally 100 kilometres per hour on highways. The limits vary along country roads, cities and towns. Visitors are advised of strict speed controls and fines if the limit is exceeded by even a small amount.

BUSES

To & From Airport;

Consider airport bus services to Elizabeth Quay Bus Station downtown if you are not in a hurry. Transperth bus 380 travels from terminals 1 and 2, and bus 40 runs from terminals 3 and 4 to Elizabeth Quay Bus Station.

Known as one of the world's greatest train journeys, the legendary Indian Pacific, operated by Great Southern Rail, is a trip of a lifetime. THINGS TO SEE AND DO

Blending urban cool with raw natural beauty, Perth is effortlessly Australian. With its immersive experiences and proximity to a range of daytrip destinations, Australia’s sunniest capital city is a place where relaxation and adventure go hand in hand.

In Perth, life’s a beach – and there are 19 of the beauties to explore along the coast. Dip and dive with dolphins, soak up an Indian Ocean sunset, or indulge in an impromptu seaside picnic or dining experience. More active? Surf, windsurf, fish or snorkel. As Australia’s sunniest capital, it’s a good bet that every day is beach weather.

For your own safety, it is suggested that you only enter the water in designated areas for activities.

How many cities in the world can you think of where an enormous native park has been preserved only 2 km from city centre skyscrapers? In the West Australian capital of Perth, a free, five minute public bus ride is all it takes to be inhaling the scent of native wildflowers while listening to bird chatter, surrounded by a dozen shades of sun-bleached green.

No other capital city in Australia has an island – let alone many - right on its doorstep. The most famous, Rottnest Island, is a Class A Nature Reserve, a revered status that ensures its wilderness is consciously preserved.

Western Australia is one of the most biologically diverse regions in the world and home to nine distinct wine regions.

These include the world-renowned Margaret River; the Swan Valley; and the lesser known wineries in the Bickley and Pickering Brook valleys - a short trip from Perth.

"If there is a 'winning region' in this year's Top 50 Best in Show selection it has to be Western Australia's Margaret River"
