Professor Roberto S. da Silva

Roberto Santana da Silva has received his PhD from the Universidade Estadual Júlio de Mesquita Filho – UNESP – Brazil in 1992. He is a Professor at University of São Paulo, in Pharmaceutical Sciences School of Ribeirao Preto, since 1986. He has proposed, developed and tested many ruthenium-based compounds, some of which form the core of cancer-fighting compounds. His research area is bioinorganic chemistry with focus in phototherapy. he was a post-doctoral fellow at University of California/Santa Barbara USA, National Institute of Health and visiting professor at Harvard Medical School. He has published more than 150 articles and 10 book chapters.
